The staff were ready, had my reservation, were attentive, and eager to help. I can't really find anything I didn't like; at this price range and with this facility you get an older room that is cleaned and kept decent, but it's quite old—still good value.

They called us the morning we were supposed to check in and told us the reservation was gone, so we had to scramble for another room in Ottawa at the last minute. Not the kind of welcome you hope for.

The staff were genuinely friendly and the place sits in a handy spot, but the room itself felt stuck in the past and the bed was so hard it left my back sore. It was okay overall, just wish the mattress was better.

The hotel is right off the highway, which made getting there a breeze, yet the hallway reeked of smoke, cigarette butts littered the entrance, and a stain on the bed just kept spreading. Location wins, but the smell and mess are a real downer.

Easy to find and right near Calypso, the price was low, the room was roomy, the AC worked well, and the towels were soft. I liked being able to tweak the shower head, the water stayed warm, and having a fridge and microwave was a plus; calling late at night got a quick response. On the flip side, even though it’s now a “free smoking” inn, the lingering smoke smell was strong, the carpet looked worn, the tub had no plug, and the curtains let in too much light.
