The hostel was shut down, but the spot was good and the coffee was decent. When I got there, the bartender told me the hostel was closed for good, yet because I had already paid he’d try to “open” it just for me. In the end it worked, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

There was literally nothing suitable. On the ground floor there’s a shop, on the first floor a café, and on the top floor only two rooms. There’s no private bathroom for the rooms, so guests must use the communal toilet in the café, whose floor is flooded with water that doesn’t drain, and I almost slipped and drowned when I entered. I had booked two rooms for me and my friend, but only one was available. The owner wouldn’t refund and promised to prepare the second room by the evening, which I believed because I was exhausted with a heavy backpack. When we returned, my friend had to share the room with the owner who was sleeping on the premises. The café patrons were very noisy. The bed was uncomfortable, the door was hard to lock. In the morning we woke early to sightsee, the owner saw us getting ready to leave, but when we tried to exit the reception guy was sleeping on the floor near the desk, the owner was gone, and the entrance door was locked from outside, so we couldn’t leave. We roused the receptionist, who also failed to open the door, then he called the owner who had gone to the mosque to pray. We waited about half an hour until he returned and opened the door. I felt trapped and unsafe; a fire would have been disastrous. I wanted to report the owner to the police but was in a hurry to sightsee and didn’t know where the police station was. This was the most terrifying hotel experience of my life; staying outside would have been worse.

The spot was great for sightseeing, so I stayed one night. The staff were friendly and gave me directions to places I didn’t know. I didn’t like that the bathroom isn’t in the room but downstairs, which isn’t good for older folks. For young people it’s fine to go downstairs. If you’re not sick it’s okay. The beds are comfortable but not good for couples; they’re small like a couch. Overall it’s a good stay for easygoing backpackers, not for people who expect high standards.

I booked a private room here (non-refundable) and when I arrived the owner told me he would be sharing the room with me. Afterwards he continued to lie to me, and say that I booked a private room but this is in fact a shared room. Scam
