“An elegant and eloquent hotel ideally situated for a short stay”
The rooms were finished to a very high standard and spotless. We liked having drinks at the bar, which is beautifully decorated and had other guests around, adding to the atmosphere. The location was ideal: we could walk to the town and it was just a four‑minute drive to our daughter’s university accommodation. We didn’t have dinner there, but a quick Uber to the town gave us many options, and it was convenient to have drinks at the hotel bar before and after, which stays open late. The hotel was understaffed; only one female staff member handled check‑in and ran the bar, which made safety and security feel inadequate. Our shower plug was blocked and my husband almost flooded the bathroom until he noticed. The lone staff member looked at the issue while we were at the bar and compensated us by offering free breakfast and drinks at the bar because no one else was available to fix it. We managed with very short showers, but it was far from ideal.
