The room was fine and the motel was standard, but we arrived after dark and the key instructions said we were in the building “across the road”; the office was on a street, not a motel corner, so it took us a while to find the place—no good when you just want to crash. The next day, in daylight, after dropping off the key and exiting a different way, we could see it was across the road from that exit, but weary travelers need a map.

The staff at the restaurant gave off a friendly vibe. The bathroom smelled like sewer, so I kept the door closed all the time. I stayed in Room 9, where a curtain was damaged because it had been jammed between the door and the striker plate.

I’ve been here several times before, and this visit was no different. After realizing I’d left my phone charger at the motel the night before, I mentioned it to the receptionist, who had a box full of chargers and handed me one that fit my phone.
