The location was good. The place was old and worn, with visible water damage and dampness in the walls.

The charm of the place is undeniable, but the facilities need refreshing. Switching from shower mode to the taps for filling the bathtub is impossible, and the paint is peeling.

This is a great stopover hotel on the way to or from Southern Europe. It’s close to the motorway yet surprisingly quiet. The room was large, well-equipped, and had a good bed. Dinner was very good, although the menu was limited. Breakfast was plentiful. The bathroom toilet had grime and the paper supply was minimal. Showering in the tub was inconvenient without a divider or curtain.

The location was good—very central yet quiet. The rooms were filthy with neglected maintenance and defects. From a leaking broken window to a broken toilet seat and mold on doors/windows, it was a far cry from the website photos. It seemed we got rooms that hadn’t been refurbished. Other rooms looked better, but ours were not. We arrived late afternoon after a long drive, were hungry, so we ate first and entered the room later. We were given a “free” breakfast as a gesture, but it was basic: a few croissants, a baguette, eggs, four slices of each of four spreads. It was clearly not restocked. Coffee and orange juice were fine.
