Breakfast was perfect. The bedroom was a catastrophe: the wall cabinets could only be opened half‑way, the doors were stuck on the bed. The left bed could only be reached from the side, with about 10 cm of space between the wall and the bed at the lower corner. With a room price of Fr. 280, having to separately order and pay for daily bedding, toilet cleaning, garbage disposal, and a kitchen usage fee of Fr. 25 per day, which is only mentioned in the tiny AGB and not included in the room price, is outrageous. During the complaint we were treated as if the staff (little to no German) had been forced to cry at the boss all night. When we asked the Walliser Hotelierverband, they told us the hotel is not a member, which is an unusual practice; their members are usually informed openly and transparently, once and for all.

Finding the hotel entrance is difficult; there are no signs from the parking, you go into the basement and have to guess where reception is. When we arrived we were told that there is no internet in the rooms “on purpose”, which wasn’t mentioned when we booked. To find that info you have to sift through the hotel’s website carefully. Everything in the room is made of wood, giving it a strong characteristic smell. We left without staying and wrote our complaints twice to management without a reply, yet we were fully charged on our credit card.

The dinner was delicious and high quality, and the breakfast was very good. The hotel family and staff were super friendly.

The balcony is overgrown with shade‑producing vines, and the restaurant terrace feels cozy. Around the property grow native shrubs like rose hips and rowan, and as a guest you feel very welcome.
