“Pleasant stay, would stay again if in the area”

The breakfast was really good, with a lot of choice and very tasty. The hotel is in an excellent location, whether driving or taking the train; we drove down to the local station for the train into St Ives. The roads are a bit hilly, so after a long day out, it’s nice to have a car at the station. There is also a bus stop just outside the hotel.

“A mixture of good and bad points.”

The dinner and breakfast were solid, especially the continental spread that was huge and came with plenty of cheese and ham. The bike shop that was advertised turned out to be just an open smoking shelter with no security and minimal weather protection for the bikes.

The spot was spot‑on, right on the bus line to St Ives (10‑minute ride for £6 return). The on‑site bar and restaurant were good, and the staff—Sarah the barmaid and the blonde lady at breakfast—were always friendly and cheerful. The food, particularly breakfast, was tasty and generous in portion. We even got a larger room this time, which was a nice change. On the downside, the room was basic and cramped, and the bar chair in the room was uncomfortable for long sits. It tended to warm up, so I was grateful for the fan, though it was pretty loud when I tried to sleep. The barmaid, Sam, came across as unprofessional and rather rude.

Breakfast was good, the staff were quick and friendly, and the food was tasty.

“Average, would not really recommend.”

The gardens and car park were nice, but I was very tired, the place needs redecorating and feels scruffy, and the tables were sticky.
