The location is great for long drives and close to the N2, but the kitchen was a mess, full of dust, and we had to wash dishes with bar soap; on Sunday the geyser was switched off, so we showered with cold water.

We liked the place and felt safe, but the water the next morning was cold enough to take a cold bath, and there was no TV or Wi‑Fi in the room.

The owner was friendly and cozy, and he made an extra fire—thanks a lot! But washing suddenly cost 200 R, even though we were promised free use of the washing machine, and the accommodation itself charged 100 R, which we found quite expensive without any explanation.

It’s well located near natural parks and the N‑2 highway, has private parking, and the staff are friendly. The room was clean, organized, and had all the basics. However, being so close to the road meant we could hear cars from the room, and the walls are thin, which bothered us while sleeping. We were in South Africa in July, had booked a Standard Double Room with mountain views that isn’t insulated for the cold, so it shouldn’t be offered in this season; but upon arrival we were told and given a warmer room in the main building.
