The spot’s great for birdwatching at Slimbridge, and the village itself is lovely to wander. The traditional pub has a friendly crew and solid pub grub, plus a good selection of draft beer and cider. Parking is plentiful. The breakfast, however, felt a bit pricey – I’d probably grab something on the road next time.

The bed was very comfortable. I couldn’t get to the Wi‑Fi, and part of the breakfast was overpriced.

They offer a solid beer selection and the food was excellent. The large car park behind the pub is a plus, and the staff are great. The rooms feel a bit dated.
