A very kind lady was waiting for us outside the building. The place is very quiet, calm, and has a soothing atmosphere. There’s a parking lot on the premises, a kitchenette for coffee and tea, a shared fridge, a microwave, and a large common room/gaming area. The corner seats with armchairs are great for quiet reflection. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

I stayed in Gubin, which is on the opposite side of the city from Nysa where I cycled, but Gubin isn’t a big metropolis, so that didn’t pose a major issue. The room was clean, tidy, and had its own bathroom—just right for a single night. On the ground floor there was coffee and tea available, and a place to store bicycles. What I missed was the clear and honest information that the place is a retreat house run by a Catholic saint’s association, not by a “private host (individual)”. The rules forbid an adult from even drinking a single beer. The hosts wished the lone traveler a “blessed stay” – some omissions.

This spot is great for unwinding, slowing down, and reflecting. The beds are very comfortable, rooms are spotless, and the morning coffee is pleasant. There are board games, comfy sofas, a big TV, and hundreds of books to enjoy. Friendly staff round out the experience. I think I’ll stay here again sometime. It would have been nicer if breakfast was included and the distance to Gubin’s center was shorter, but that’s all I have to complain about.
