I was impressed by the bathroom layout and the receptionist’s friendly attitude, but everything else felt old and uninviting. I booked a king suite hoping my wife and I could sleep comfortably without touching, yet the bed was a worn-out spring mattress on a noisy, creaky metal frame that hurt our backs. The TV only had cable, no streaming, which suggests the owners are either cheap or out of touch. Free Wi‑Fi ran at only 25 % of my cell data speed. The bathtub’s water pressure was weak, and the suite lacked a refrigerator or microwave—dangerous for my family’s diabetes since we couldn’t store insulin. The whole property looked dirty, smelled off, and screamed “don’t stay here.” The worst part was spotting a cockroach crawling around as we checked out. Pest control is available for a fee, but it feels gross to pay for it. Red Roof Inn is now permanently on my “Do not book” list. Do better, people. You’re capable of it.
