The setting by Lake Nofin is beautiful, and the facilities are very modern and comfortable. Make sure you’re arriving at the right one—there are two, and it’s easy to get confused and be dropped off at the wrong one, which is 2 km away. If you want transportation arranged through the guesthouse, confirm a price before you arrive, because it can be expensive (taxi to Panjakent for about 75 USD). Once you’re there it’s very remote, with no data or Wi‑Fi, so plan that in advance and ensure you’re paying a price that works for you to get out. The remoteness is part of the charm, but don’t end up stranded without affordable transport.

The spot sits right in the middle of the 7 lakes route, which is great. But there’s only one bathroom for the whole place, the shower water barely ran, and the toilet smelled awful.

The host was great and helped us arrange transport. It’s located in the heart of the Seven Lakes region, but remember it’s a guesthouse in a remote spot, so don’t expect luxury.

“Great!”

I spent a month in a traditional Tajik village and it was a comfortable stay. Unlike nearby Uzbekistan, the area didn’t feel staged for tourists, making it a highlight of our Central Asia trip.
