The room was dirty and shabby, with holes in the floor and roof. On the second day a snake slipped in through one of the holes, and the staff casually said it might not be venomous. Thankfully it was daytime and someone was in the room, but what if it happened when no one was there and the snake entered your luggage? They couldn’t locate the snake, so we had to change rooms. The price is too high for such poor rooms. I would not recommend this at any cost.

I liked my stay here because it was very quiet and beautiful. There were easy options for tours and getting around. The common area was great for chatting with other travellers. Breakfast was sufficient if you’re not a big eater. There were lots of bugs, but that’s to be expected.

Waking up surrounded by jungle was stunning, and the staff were friendly; the place is also near the orangutan sanctuary. However, the bed felt very hard, and the pillows and quilt were mouldy even though the sheets and pillowcases were clean. The room had an air‑con but many gaps in the walls and floor prevented it from cooling properly, and on the first night there were plenty of wasps in the room.

The jungle setting was wonderful, and everything else was great.
