I had a horrible experience with the lasagna and salad at the bar area; a splintered piece of wood was in my first bite and there were no apologies. The rooms are dated, the shower took ages to warm up, the windows are rotten and need replacing, and the place needs a fresh décor.

I liked the pool, steam room, and breakfast, and the room was a nice big space. The décor felt somewhat dated.

The hotel’s edge‑of‑town spot kept me away from the main traffic, and although we only stayed four nights and didn’t get to try all the facilities, we did taste one of the two on‑site restaurants and the food was good. We also ate at the bar, where the food was again good and the nightly entertainment from local solo musicians was enjoyable. There’s a kids’ games room, a gym, a pool, a jacuzzi, and pool tables in the bar area. However, on the third floor at the rear, a large tank was constantly overflowing due to a faulty valve, and the sound of the overflowing guttering was audible in the room. We also wished for a couple more disabled parking spaces, as we had a long walk one night to the entrance because both spots were taken.

The staff were friendly and helpful where they could, and the location is good enough to walk into Ennis. But our room was tiny, far from the photo I had seen; it felt old and dingy. The facilities were dated, the iron leaked water, and the reply we received was really old. We couldn’t sleep well any night because we could hear people walking in the rooms above us, and the cleaners were very loud in the hallway in the morning. The bed was very uncomfortable. When we tried to return around 2‑3 am, the only way to get into the building was to call a number, but both of us couldn’t call because our SIM cards didn’t allow it, so we had to bang on the door for 30 minutes until someone let us in. There’s a phone on the wall that says to dial 0 to get access, but that phone doesn’t work. Overall, I feel like I paid way too much for the quality of this place. No money has been reinvested into it for many years, and it feels like a cheap motel. It’s extremely outdated.
