The room was lovely with a comfy bed, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was fabulous. I liked everything.

The restaurant and bar were great. The shower, however, lacked grab rails and a caddy for body wash bottles, and there was an excessive amount of carpet on the walls, window sill, and wardrobe doors.

The team was helpful and polite, the evening meal and breakfast were lovely, and the historic building’s quirks made it comfortable and clean, though I couldn’t stay longer because of work.

The cream tea upon arrival was spectacular: real leaf tea with a fresh scone, cream and jam—scrummy and a lovely touch. The old building’s exposed period features added to the charm.

The rooms were comfortable and characterful; the staff handled everything without trouble. It was very quiet at night, and the breakfast was among the best we’ve had.
