“Не рекомендую”
I stayed three times at this hotel because it’s close to the First May Lakes where festivals happen and public transport is a hassle, so walking is the best option. The breakfasts are decent, there’s plenty of water, the showers are clean, the rooms are large, and the reception is open 24/7. This last visit turned out to be the last one. In the evening after the festival, a staff member recognized me and, when I stammered that I’d come back next month for another festival, she told a story. Apparently, due to a booking glitch, there was a double reservation and we were caught up. The rooms were supposedly booked for the festival last year, but those dates didn’t exist, and this year they’re different – we booked in April for August as soon as everything opened. They then supposedly wrote to everyone who had this issue and advised me to CANCEL the booking myself. Yet two weeks later it was still there and no one contacted me. It felt like they were assigning rooms to their own people and hunting for guests who would cancel on their own. Trying to find accommodation at the last minute for a festival at a premium price is a nightmare, and I’d have flown from Tashkent and tried to find a place overnight if I hadn’t learned this. The staff – the hotel owner, a grown man, and his girlfriend (?) – kept calling my sister and me “to mark” us. Both were pushy. I repeated several times that I was tired, had to get up early, and had no energy, but they kept persuading, only backing off at the end. I consider such harassment of guests absolutely unacceptable. This happened before, but it was less annoying. As for sound insulation: at six a.m. I heard lovemaking – it sounded like it was happening right in my bed, so loud. Also, the rooms were clearly smoking – a stale, old cigarette smell was in every room I stayed in. Cleaning only happens if you ask.
