“Sadly disappointed.”

The place was ideally located for us and we appreciated the old‑school charm of the pub/inn, but the guest Wi‑Fi never worked in the room, and aside from a skylight, there were no windows in the room or bathroom; we were told the day before that there would be no hot water because the boiler was broken, and when we asked how long it would take, they said the “brewery” had been notified and would decide; when we went downstairs for dinner we learned the kitchen was closed on Mondays.

“If you arrive late and plan on leaving early and just want somewhere to put your head down then it’s ok. You wouldn’t”

The property’s location was excellent, the room was a good size, the area was very quiet, and parking was plentiful, yet there was no hot water for the entire stay, no apology or compensation was offered, it was a known issue with previous boiler problems, the room looked very tired, the bed was too small for two, and the bathroom needed a full overhaul.

It was a nice place, but the shower didn’t work and only the double bed was ready.

“Nice comfy place to stay close to the DownsLink.”

The spot works well for us cyclists on the DownsLink, the room was cozy, and the staff were very helpful.
