Ellen and Abdel were extremely welcoming and flexible, making me feel right at home and free to explore nearby spots to sit, read, or sketch. Plenty of options: a spacious rooftop terrace with a unique view or a garden. They know everything about Aswan and the area for any excursion you fancy—walking, cycling, boat trips, everything is possible. The meals were delicious and more than enough for me. I had an issue with the water in my room, but it was resolved immediately. The location is perfect, right next to the local ferry and at the front of the traditional Nubian village. They were closed for a while but are now ready to welcome enthusiastic Egypt (and Nubia) travelers again. The water problem was handled well.
