“Too bad this is the only hotel worth something in town and it’s ran down now”
For a little over $200 you should get a clean room and a front desk that’s actually in the office after 10 p.m.; instead the place was filthy.

The hotel's setting in a beautiful woodsy area was a real treat, and we were prepared for the bugs with no issues. Watching the sunrise over the golf course was a lovely way to start the day, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, we were disappointed to find that the lake and beach were closed, and the trails could have been better maintained. Our suite had a clogged bathroom sink, and breakfast was a bit of a letdown, taking a while to arrive and being just mediocre.

The hotel's woodland setting is truly stunning, but that's where the positives end for me. The room was very basic, and the price was way too high, especially considering it's a state facility. I was shocked that they were charging so much for such a small room, especially during the week when it's quiet. What really took the cake, though, was the night maintenance guy who harassed us about our dogs being outside our door.

Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a few major issues. The restaurant was tiny and overpriced, and the AC in our room was ridiculously loud, making it impossible to sleep. It's a shame, because the location could be great, but these problems really detracted from our experience.

The location of this hotel was its biggest selling point – it was right in the heart of the action, which made it perfect for exploring the area. On the downside, the ventilation system was really loud, the staff were incompetent, and the food was pretty terrible. Overall, it was a bit of a mixed bag.
