This was hands‑down the best place we stayed at on our southern‑Africa road trip. The rooms were tidy and the owners made all the difference – they greeted us like royalty, shared breakfast by the fire, sang, and explained everyday tools, giving us a real taste of Botswana life. Even though the price was low, the experience felt priceless, and they even respected our need for privacy when we just wanted a quiet night.

We’d heard Botswana was a diamond country, but staying at Leboda Bed & Breakfast felt like finding the finest gem in the bush, which is why we returned for a second time. Tucked away from the usual tourist routes, the stay turns you into a true Tswana for a few days – sharing traditional meals, songs, dances, games and stories. Betty is a walking encyclopedia and a true guardian of the culture, and her family (shout‑out to Kelly) took care of every tiny detail with flawless hospitality.

The hosts were incredibly warm and patient, going the extra mile to make us feel at home while teaching us about Botswana’s culture and serving delicious dinner and breakfast. Their ululating songs on arrival and departure were unforgettable, the bed was comfy, the village quiet, and the Wi‑Fi solid. The only hiccup was a weak GPRS signal that left us a few houses off, but the hosts kept in touch and even drove out to fetch us.
