“Booking.com changed more than double for the room. It was £60 if we booked through the Powell itself.”
The room was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked everything; just upset about all the changes.

We were walking the King Charles III Coastal Path from Whistable to Broadstairs and stayed here overnight while in Minnis Bay/Birchington. It's well situated and close to some superb cafes and restaurants, including Bello's (Italian) and The Sandwich Guy (coffees, sandwiches and cakes). We received a warm welcome from friendly Matt and were shown to our room, which was a very comfortable twin. The room was beautifully furnished and came stocked with nice snacks and amenities. It's a plush lodging above a quality pub. Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed on the day we visited so we didn't get to try the menu. Our keypad room entry didn't work at first and had to be reset. It was also difficult to adjust the height of the shower. But these are minor complaints overall

Lovely room, and any issues were dealt with immediately, so the customer service was great.

Clean, comfortable, great location for Quex Park. Hard to work out how to access and lack of staff enthusiasm to help us, for example when they stopped serving food.
