“Terrible stay. Will never return.”
At least the drive to the beach from the hotel wasn’t bad. I arrived around 7:30 pm and found two police officers in the lobby, which was odd. The first 3rd‑floor room we got had open food packages and several open soda cans in the fridge, plus open potato chip bags in a kitchen cabinet drawer. The second 3rd‑floor room smelled heavily of cigarettes and had an open ginger‑ale bottle in the fridge. We went back downstairs, and receptionist Maya showed us two rooms on the second level: one smelled musty and the other was okay, with an empty fridge and cabinets. We spent 1.5 hr sorting this out. After a late dinner and a tiring 1.5‑hour drive from the south, we returned to the hotel to shower, only to find the bath mat folded and wet. When I opened the sheets, a long black hair was on them. We slept with a shawl over the pillows. The next morning I took the sheets and towels to the receptionist for replacements, as I’d been told there was no daily service. The morning staff apologized, checked several rooms, and gave us a room with two beds. My elderly mother, who was with me, had an allergic reaction from the Friday‑Saturday room because it wasn’t cleaned properly—hair on the sheets and a wet bath mat. We had to take allergy medication for pet‑hair and unclean rooms, even though the hotel is pet friendly. The cleaning staff need to be more careful with trash in kitchen cabinets. Our last room, 227, was better, but we kept going back and forth to complain even to the general manager, who basically just said “sorry” and did nothing else.
