The location was good. It was okay.
Comfortable, clean, and a good price. The Wi‑Fi wasn’t strong on the top floor.
“The Rommanee Classic Guesthouse a un excellent emplacement. Un hôtel à privilégier pour les très courts séjours (1 ou 2”
The Rommanee Classic Guesthouse shines mainly because it’s in the heart of Phuket Old Town, close to restaurants, shops, and other popular cafés. It’s integrated into a café (which is great). The staff are courteous. The room I stayed in was one of the quietest because it faces the back of the building with a view of the rooftops. The unique setting behind a café can be charming, especially with the aroma of roasted coffee in the morning. The place falls short in several areas that could be improved. First, the staff are courteous but lack the flair you’d usually find in Thailand. They do the job but nothing more. For an anecdote, I arrived with a heavy suitcase. I asked for help carrying it to my room, but was denied, even though it was on the second floor with very narrow, steep stairs. The rooms have no storage for hanging items—only two hangers on a rack. They’re in fairly bad condition with damp stains everywhere, worn sheets (clean), torn towels, rigid bedding (I couldn’t tell if the hardness was due to wear or the mattress model), and a basic shower. Even though it’s at the back of the building, noise is present (air‑conditioning, neighbor’s shower, street, etc.).
“Nicht zu empfehlen, wenn man Wert auf Sauberkeit legt!”
The accommodation is right in Phuket’s Old Town—right in the middle! I don’t know if you’d expect more for the price, but we left a night earlier than planned. The bathroom was extremely dirty, the rooms were only okay, and the old air‑conditioner blew out dirt when it ran.
