The suite was good and the facilities were solid, but the breakfast options were very poor and the prices were high.

Hotel Penaga, a boutique hotel in George Town, is housed in three rows of restored 1940s two-storey shophouses. The hotel features antique furniture, restored wooden flooring, and Asian art in its spacious rooms. Located near Gurney Drive for local hawker food and Batu Ferringgi Beach, it serves as a lovely base for exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We love the heritage old style that the hotel has kept up . The location is excellent to access the whole of George Town and are in walking distance of many attractions . We stayed in the duplex two bedroom apartment with amazing high ceilings and a little outdoor area where the jacuzzi is. Cleaning staff can do better around corners and surface tops in the apartment. Some lightbulbs were blown . Breakfast choices are not great but then you are in Georgetown so it's better to head out

It had a certain charm, yet the equipment was confusing to use with no instructions, ants swarmed in the morning, and the jacuzzi I’d been looking forward to was broken so I couldn’t relax.

There was no room service, and even after telling the staff to clean, they only made empty promises.
