Riad Diafa, a refined oasis in Rabat’s historic center, offers family rooms with private courtyards, a fully equipped kitchen, and free WiFi. Guests dine al fresco on a terrace overlooking the city, enjoy bathrobes, tea and coffee makers, and a refrigerator. Located less than 1 km from Plage de Rabat and 10 km from the airport, it provides private check‑in/out services.

The place is mostly in the Medina, but keep in mind you can’t drive in, so if you have a lot of luggage you’ll have to carry it through narrow streets. Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it. The lady was friendly and seemed eager to help, yet she didn’t speak any English, making communication with Google Translate frustrating. Breakfast was not available at 8:00 AM, which is a basic expectation. The room was tiny and the furniture looked cheap. The overall condition felt more like a low‑budget hostel than comfortable lodging. The stairs are steep and potentially dangerous, so be careful not to fall. The ceiling is low—taller than 1.85 m and you’ll hit your head. There’s no air conditioning and no ventilation in the bathroom, so after a shower the room stays hot, damp, and uncomfortable. A strange, unpleasant odor, possibly from the sewage system, lingered. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, though the sheets were clean. The bathroom had no door, so privacy was nonexistent, and ants were present. Overall, you’d stay there only if you had no other choice, not because you want to. It’s barely passable for one night, and I’d strongly advise against staying longer. I would not return.

The location, the small breakfast, the cleanliness, the price, and the cute mini‑room were all positives. The reception was cold and distant; I spent two hours in the lounge with no one in sight and had no contact with the host. The steep staircase, more like a ladder to reach the mezzanine bed, made it hard to get to the room—if you’re not very fit, it’s a challenge.

The reception, service, and hall of the riad are absolutely magnificent! The room is very spacious and pleasant! Finally, Madame Meriem’s professionalism. Nothing else.
