This pension sits in the town centre; we stayed in the Blue Room, a reasonably sized room with a balcony, a large closet, very clean and quiet at night. Owner Luis is extremely organized, and the shared kitchen for guests is wonderful. This is a lovely pension to stay in and enjoy the surrounding area; we are very grateful for Luis’s kindness and excellent hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone planning to visit San Sebastián.

Very comfortable and convenient spot in San Sebastián. Luis was incredibly kind and helpful during our stay and even gave us transport and restaurant recommendations. All around a great stay. With only one room available we had to book the room with a separate bathroom. It was absolutely fine and very private, but we had to use the common hallway to access the bathroom. We should have booked earlier to secure one of the ensuite rooms.

Location and facilities. Noise, but for Spanish standards that was to be expected. It is also very small, so you quickly hear other guests moving and/or using the facilities.

Bed comfy, and excellent location to everything you need. The ‘External private bathroom’ is actually a walk down a hallway, past the reception in full sight of the rest of the guests’ rooms, and is next to a separate apartment, which isn’t linked to Pensión Joakina. Air con rattled relentlessly.
