The staff were outstanding—Faye at check‑in made sure we had everything we wanted, and Ruby with her manager at dinner were quick to respond to our requests. I liked the short walk around the grounds. The menu was rather limited, both at the bar and in the main restaurant, and it felt slow when it seemed empty.

I really appreciated the historical vibe; my great uncle, Abbot Fredrick Wulston Knowles, died there in 1965. No complaints.

The building, grounds, and history were great. The parking lot was spacious. My room was comfortable with plenty of hot water, and the vegetarian sausages tasted good. We weren't told the restaurant would be closed.
