“Dreadful place, would never come again”
Breakfast was very poor and basic—no marmalade or jam, and the “croissant” was microwaved. Cheap sliced white bread was served in a huge empty dining room. There was no staff at breakfast, and the experience was dreadful. I had to ask for towels.
“Enter the Dungeon”
We'd previously stayed at the hotel 4 years ago when it was under different ownership and because of this we wanted to visit again . We really should have read the reviews because as we found out things have changed drastically. Where to start 🤔 The driveway was full of holes but parking is ok . The guy on reception was fine . We received the entry card for room 20 which was on the ground floor , when we got to room 20 the card wouldn't operate the door so we had to go back to reception, the guy on reception tried the card and after a few goes managed to open the door , throughout our stay it was always an issue to get into the room . Once in the room we were so disappointed as it was a mish mash of random furniture , ripped wallpaper, tatty curtains , a mattress which was to short for the bed , lighting which had bulbs missing and a horrible random arm chair . We were going back to reception to complain when we noticed some of the other rooms were open so we checked them out and they were so much better than the room we'd been allocated. Saw the guy on reception and complained but all he said was that the hotel was fully booked and that we couldn't have another room . That night when we returned we counted 7 cars including our own for a 20 room hotel . By now we referred to our room as the Dungeon as it was dark and uncomfortable compared to the other rooms . We didn't bother going to the bar as we had done on our previous visit as nowadays alcohol is off the menu and enjoyment is in short supply . After reading the reviews we didn't bother with breakfast but went out for it . The property is currently on the market for £1.4 million and consequently the owners couldn't care less about paying customers. We love Bingley and will visit again but not this excuse for a hotel
“Basically an uncomfortable bed in a shabby room.”
I once admired the building's beauty, but it’s now sadly in disrepair, almost a hostel with barely any working facilities.
The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, offered to help with luggage, and recommended walks and places to eat. I loved the aesthetics.
Ali was excellent and did his best to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Downstairs rooms had a damp smell, and the property clearly needed a lot of maintenance.
