Located in the historic centre of Ispra, Hotel Europa overlooks Lake Maggiore, with the pier for ferries to the Borromean Islands and Stresa directly in front. The lake-view restaurant features a spacious terrace. Each room offers a private balcony, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a TV with satellite channels, along with free parking and proximity to the Joint Research Centre (1 km) and a nearby beach (50 metres).

The balcony offered a view of the lake, the room was tidy, breakfast was ample and the sandwiches were fresh, and the rental car could be parked at the door; the surroundings were quiet for this time of year, but it was unclear where to get dinner at night and there were very few restaurants nearby.

The location is excellent, right on the waterfront, though the hotel itself feels a bit dated; our recently renovated room was very clean, overall good value for money and we would stay again, and the breakfast was very nice.

There are plenty of parking spaces, and you can also get a free parking permit for public lots; the air‑conditioner is very loud and blows directly onto the balcony, and the standard breakfast lacks a hot buffet such as scrambled eggs.

Probably the best spot on Lago Maggiore! Right next to a small, lovely beach and an excellent restaurant, the lake view is breathtaking. The staff were very attentive and immediately tried to fulfill all our wishes. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room had everything needed. We spent five beautiful days here. Thank you very much!
