It’s very close to Chennai Central Railway station—you can walk from there. There’s a hotel mafia around these places. They will accept your reservation and, knowing people need non‑standard check‑in, will tell you that if their hotel is full they’ll accommodate you in another hotel of theirs. In reality those hotels are much cheaper. I booked Hydel Park but ended up in Green Suites on the same street. The picture of Hydel Park on the site gives a good impression, but the street is very dirty and the hotels are packed together. Cleanliness is average, and the reception staff act like goons, ready to fight. It’s their rule, and you’ll have to agree if you don’t want to run around in the early hours or late nights. Be careful.
