I wanted breakfast on the second day, but it only started at 10:00 am, which was far too late for my departure; they did bring me coffee on my checkout day, which was very nice. The staff were incredibly friendly, always cheerful and helpful, offering several times to carry my luggage up to the second floor and even assisting with a finger that got jammed in a car door—thanks again for that. The building itself is beautiful, with a great beer garden and a wonderful atmosphere; I didn’t eat at the restaurant but the menu looked impressive. The downside was that my room on the second night was on the second floor of a house with no elevator, making the stairs hard for my old dog and cumbersome for luggage. I should have checked that when booking, so that’s my fault. I also had to take two cold showers despite a heating technician being on site Saturday; the sink finally gave hot water in drops, but the shower stayed cold, which was disappointing for a stay that cost over € 100. The bathroom was tiny, the door opened inward and the room already felt small, though the separate WC was a plus. Light sleepers will struggle because the hotel sits under a flight path and planes take off every minute from early morning; I like sleeping with the window open, but it was extremely noisy. On hot days there’s air‑conditioning, which helped.
