The host was amazing—he understood our confusion with Google Maps, printed directions to the center, and let us drop off luggage in the morning before check‑in. That’s real Italian hospitality. The beds were incredibly comfortable, especially after student housing. The room was huge, and I liked the towel hooks right beside the showers, so I didn’t have to walk out drenched to hang a towel. The view was astounding, both inside and outside. There’s no real downside, just that it’s a bit farther from the city center; public transport takes 30‑40 minutes and was sometimes tardy or unreliable, with some buses missing stops. Plan accordingly if you’re on a tight schedule.

The setting was quiet, the room clean and equipped with every comfort, but the pillows were too high.

A quiet spot inside a beautiful park, with a spacious and very clean room and bathroom. The area is residential, offering restaurants and cafés nearby, and the historic centre is well served by nearby public transport. Communication with the host was good whenever needed.

Valle dei Casali offers three or four modern rooms with large bathrooms in a bungalow‑style building that has a big garden with lemon and olive trees and a large terrace overlooking a park‑like landscape. The highlight is that it sits on a great plot at the end of a side street, an oasis of calm in the middle of Rome. Several restaurants are within walking distance, the bus stop is right on the main road, and the tram to the station is a short walk further. You can leave your car on the property, secured by a high steel gate, and use public transport. In the hallway of the bungalow, a kitchenette is available for self‑catering, which I didn’t use except for the coffee machine. However, I did press freshly ripe large lemons into cold mineral water and quenched my thirst generously. A breakfast is not offered at Valle dei Casali, but you can grab an Italian breakfast in the surrounding cafés before heading into the city bustle.
