The only positive thing from my perspective was the location; I always stay in the Opéra area when I go to Paris, so this hotel’s central and very advantageous spot was its biggest plus. Unfortunately, the hotel fell far below my expectations. Everything was incredibly old, worn out, and neglected. Cleanliness was definitely unsatisfactory. From the rugs on the stairs to the velvet lining behind the room door, every detail bore the wear of years. That old and neglected smell was impossible to ignore. Also, the blanket left for us to cover the bed was so heavy that I felt almost crushed under it while trying to sleep; it was a very uncomfortable experience in terms of comfort. I am aware that accommodation prices in Paris are high, but in a hotel that charges such a high fee it is natural to expect at least a certain standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and comfort. Unfortunately, the hotel was far from delivering the value of the money paid. I can understand that hotels in historic buildings exist because of Paris’s heritage, but staying in an old building is not the same as staying in an unmaintained and inadequately clean hotel. In short, aside from its location, I saw no positive aspects, and the price‑performance balance was a very poor lodging experience. I strongly recommend evaluating better alternatives at this price level.
