Located in the heart of Galle Fort, Secret Garden Galle Fort offers a tranquil garden, expansive terrace, and on-site bar, along with complimentary WiFi. The hotel features 400 metres to Dutch Church Galle and 1.1 km to Galle Fort. Rooms include a desk, flat-screen TV, and private bathroom, with certain rooms boasting a balcony and air conditioning. A continental breakfast is served, and staff speak English and Russian at the 24-hour reception.

The Secret Garden spot is spot on on the main street, just minutes to everything. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the last luggage was hauled up and down! Roshan, the manager, his wife, and everyone else were super welcoming and helpful. The basic accommodation had comfy beds and a hot shower. The breakfast was great—don’t miss the Sri Lankan omelette! The restaurant below is a bonus with tasty food.

Small but cozy with a great spot. The manager and staff did everything they could for us. Hot water was great and the mattress was the most comfortable. The stairs were a little difficult.

The location is excellent—extremely central and convenient for walking around the Fort. The building feels very basic; being in an old typical palace, the antique look of the spaces probably comes from that. The room was cramped and the bathroom a bit disappointing. Because of the location, the place isn’t very quiet and the price isn’t as modest as other spots in Sri Lanka. It’s good that you can choose between different breakfast types, but the ones we picked weren’t particularly interesting or plentiful.
