Thanks to the host for replying so quickly and processing the refund right away. We booked four rooms, and the four‑person room with two beds had a lot of tiny bugs; the host said it was normal because the room was empty for a short time and the first floor has a garden. Maybe that explains it, but the other three rooms still had some hair on the sheets. The friend who stayed in the four‑person room said she could not accept the bugs and wanted to leave immediately and find another room, but we kept the other three rooms. The host was fast to respond and also refunded. Overall, the bathroom cleanliness needs improvement, and the sheets might be better if sent for washing. Next time, please let the host know when booking that we’re staying on the first floor.

The location is super close to Hualien Meno Hospital, so visiting family in the hospital is very convenient.

“Comfortable room. Housekeeping disappointing.”

The TV channels were good when the Wi‑Fi worked, the decor was modern, and the bathroom was updated. Scooter parking was available and the exterior of the property looked nice with stone features. The host handed us a pot of coffee when we arrived, which was a nice gesture. We could use the washing machine on the top floor. The balcony had not been cleaned in a long time and a chair was broken, but since there was no view I doubt many would use it. When I mentioned it to the host, it was fixed quickly. There was a sign to hang on the door for daily housekeeping; on the first day we forgot to put it out, but the host was cleaning the balcony so we assumed he would do the housekeeping. Even with the sign out, we still had no housekeeping and the rubbish smelled. The website claimed a restaurant, but we never found one. On our last night there was no TV because the Wi‑Fi was buffering. The room has a kettle and cups, but only tea, no coffee. For water you have to take it from the dispenser downstairs. The property is a distance from the train station and although there is a bus, the service isn’t frequent, so you need your own transport. We arrived just before a two‑day holiday and most restaurants were closed, so there were very limited food options nearby.

The room space is plenty, the loft design is a hit with kids, and the interior decoration shows care. Overall it’s very good. The only things to note are that the mattress is a bit soft, the hair dryer is weak, the shower head’s water jet is hard to adjust, and it would be better to have a rack for toiletries in the rain area.
