The spot is unbeatable, right in the heart of the old town, just steps from the cathedral; the rooms were clean and roomy, the staff were fantastic, and the breakfast changed daily, always good. The staff were very attentive. The only downside was a slight lack of soundproofing from the hallway, though it was only a minor issue.

I have stayed at Chi Boutique Hotel in Hanoi several times while touring Vietnam. When I first arrived, my luggage and that of two friends got lost in transit at CDG Paris. Lily, the tour manager, was outstanding in tracking our bags with Vietnam Airlines in Hanoi, locating them in Paris, arranging their re‑shipment on the next flight, and delivering them to the hotel 24 hours later. Without Lily, we would have been without our luggage for days, which would have been tough. I booked the Deluxe room, which was very nice and spacious, and got a good deal. I stayed in three different rooms during my trip. Because the hotel is in a great spot near Hanoi’s old quarter, the streets can be noisy late at night, especially if you’re on a lower floor overlooking the street. In one room the shower mixer was faulty, so I had a lukewarm cold shower.

The hotel is very central and well situated in the Old Quarter. The Suite is definitely worth the price. The hotel doesn’t have a lot of facilities, but it offers good value for money.

The hotel is very nice, with lovely staff and the perfect spot for exploring Hanoi. It’s close to all the major sights yet still quiet and relaxing. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was also good.
