“Une halte de charme au pays des Mésanges”
The recently renovated spot sits right in the middle of the Bitche area, and the quiet village of Meisenthal (the German “Mésanges Valley”) makes it a charming place I’d recommend without hesitation. As soon as you arrive, you’re greeted by plenty of tits and a cheeky squirrel that gives you a knowing look. The host at reception is warm and endlessly knowledgeable about what to do and see nearby. Must‑see spots include the Bitche citadel, the Verrier site in Meisenthal, and the “Colorado” about 30 km away, plus the Saint Louis and Lalique crystal shops. The restaurant is excellent, offering a range of well‑made regional dishes served on a pleasant shaded terrace. The young, athletic girl running the service is efficient and friendly. Breakfast is also worth mentioning, with homemade jams, tasty farm yogurt, and good regional charcuterie. All in all, a very charming stop for a completely reasonable price. Nothing at all to complain about!
