Completely outside the city centre, far worse than the photos on the site, totally at odds with the positive reviews on Booking, I don’t understand how this place can be rated excellent when in reality it feels like a shabby, dim hotel. Tell me what “fantastic” refers to? The site claims my booking was a 40‑square‑metre room but it actually measures less than 25 square metres, which is horrible. There was a strong smell of smoke in a room advertised as “Non‑smoking” and there were cigarette burns on the sofa, the TV didn’t work, the lighting was like a horror film, and the smoke smell permeated the whole room. Tell me what “fantastic” means?

The hotel has good and friendly staff who are very helpful with guest requests. It is located near a red‑light area, the facilities are poorly maintained, and the air‑con is bad.

The view was breathtaking, the location was pleasant, and the staff were friendly. However, there were many downsides. I don’t quite understand where the positive reviews come from. The hotel is clearly very outdated and does not match the photos shown on Booking. The walls were damaged, the doors and windows were difficult to open and close, and there were cigarette burns in the furniture. It was not properly cleaned—there was a lot of dust in places that are not immediately visible. On top of that, the reception staff don’t even greet you when you walk in—you’re completely ignored. Worst of all was the constant smell of cigarettes. Smoking is allowed in this hotel, and if you are sensitive to it, it can keep you awake at night. Additionally, there is a nightclub next to the hotel that slides escort flyers under the room doors in the evening. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience

The staff were incredibly patient, even though we had a language barrier; they used translation software to help us and took us to the famous scenic spots around Chongqing, making the trip a lot better. I definitely recommend this hotel!
