“Expérience globalement stressante et décevante du début à la fin, avec un confort insuffisant et une organisation peu ad”
The experience was extremely disappointing, the worst of our stay in Japan. From the moment we arrived, communication was very difficult: the reception did not speak English and all explanations were only in Japanese, with no effort to adapt, making interactions hard for foreign travelers. Every time we entered or left the hotel, we were called to the reception without understanding why, and these repeated interruptions were unnecessary and made the stay stressful and uncomfortable. The organization was very rigid, especially with a late check‑in at 18:00, which was inconvenient for early arrivals. The room was disappointing: a visible hole in the wall, a very thin and hard mattress, a very dark room, and a defective entrance light that wouldn’t turn off easily. Overall comfort was lacking. The housekeeping left dust visible. There was no refrigerator in the room. We were given only one bottle of water per day for two days, after which it became pay‑per‑use. On the morning of departure, at 11:30, we were called and asked repeatedly, even at the door, to leave the room even though check‑out was at 12:00, which made the moment especially stressful. At departure, we were asked to leave before check‑out time, then an extension was offered for 3,000 yen, and we were ultimately charged 5,000 yen, making the situation very strict and hard to understand. Overall, there was a lack of clarity in communication, a lack of flexibility, and a level of comfort far below the standards encountered elsewhere in Japan.
