The room was comfy and well equipped, and the staff were welcoming and easy to get to. The evening meals were superb and beautifully prepared, and everything felt just right.

The village was lovely, with authentic touches. The guesthouse sits on the opposite side of the street from the restaurant.

Dinner was great and the chef was very obliging, cooking exactly what we asked for. The Wi‑Fi only worked in the room, and there was no table available there. We didn’t like the breakfast at all; there were no croissants, just rather stale toasted bread. The first day we had some nice brioche, but it was missing on the second day.

We had booked two nights several months in advance for a family event, but I forgot we had booked two nights, so we didn’t show up the first night, which we had already paid for. When we arrived for the second night, they refused to give us access to the room because we had not shown up the first night?!? I can only assume that they had double‑booked the room and wanted to push us out. The welcome was absolutely incredible – in the worst possible way. There was no empathy whatsoever, and the staff were aggressive and unhelpful. The room was not provided and we were simply turned away! We were charged for only one night, as our daughter did not use the room on the second night… so I suppose we were lucky!! A very bad experience during a family event. We had to find another hotel, which kindly managed to accommodate us at the last minute. Definitely not the kind of experience you expect when you have booked and paid for a room several months in advance.
