Banig Beach Resort El Nido

The location was perfect, right on the beachfront and just a short ride from downtown. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good. However, the family room we stayed in had maintenance problems: broken shower knobs and a clogged sink drain. We were upgraded to the suite villa, where my son and I both got bitten by bed bugs that we struggled with until the day we checked out. The wallpaper was peeling, the wooden stools needed varnishing, and the minibar fridge stopped working even after we reported it twice. The restaurant had no tea spoons, several breakfast items were missing from the menu, and the beverage dispenser was moldy. The menu boards needed replacement, and the menu itself could be improved—black and white prints weren't enough.

I was pleasantly surprised in a very positive way. The rooms were beautiful, you could go straight onto the beach and watch the sunset, and the staff were wonderful.

“Beautiful hidden gem”

It’s literally on the beach! The décor is lovely, the pool area is great, and the staff are fabulous. The access to the property isn’t obvious and doesn’t match Google Maps, which caused confusion at first. We eventually figured out that the very rough dirt and stone track was the entrance. In the off‑season the restaurant bar didn’t open—small resort, so that’s understandable, but better communication from the staff would help.
