The area is lovely, with plenty of great pubs and transport options. The room wasn’t cleaned properly; there was a bit of rubbish on the bathroom floor and the beds are very uncomfortable and tiny. The owners and staff come across a bit off and weird, and they were washing out in the reception area.

I stay here once a year for a reunion in Reading, and the walk from the station is perfect for my needs. The room was fine—clean and more than adequate. It’s not luxurious and doesn’t pretend to be; small but perfectly formed. The bathroom was clean but rather tired, yet still perfectly adequate. Parking is included and right outside the room. I’ll be back next year. If you’re after a place that’s refurbished every other year with a health spa and on‑site restaurant, pay a lot more elsewhere.

The location was perfect for us. The room was far too hot, tiny, and dated, with only one tea bag and one coffee sachet for two of us. It felt like an out‑of‑date Butlins without the joy of a red coat! Thankfully the room was clean, or I’d have left!

Parking and locality are good. There’s no air conditioning, the condition is poor, and it’s simply furnished.
