The breakfast was underwhelming, especially since the place was marketed as a B&B. We received vouchers for coffee and a croissant at a dim tavern locals frequent, but the next morning no croissants were available. The host’s claim of a B&B is misleading because they actually run a restaurant on the mountain top. We had traveled across Italy and were used to warm welcomes from hosts who offered water as a courtesy. Here, in the middle of nowhere, the fridge was unplugged and there was no water bottle upon arrival. I asked the host for an iron because my dress got wrinkled and I had a baptism to attend the next day; she suggested I go to a cleaner, but I was in the middle of nowhere, with no food, no water, and everything closed. No suggestions were offered for activities or nearby amenities. I was very disappointed and would not stay again.

Comfortable and in a beautiful spot in the picturesque village of Rocca San Felice, right next to the main square yet tucked away. The little terrace, where you can have breakfast, opens onto a very fine view. Because of the intense heat I had to use the air‑conditioner, which at night was a real nightmare due to the loud, annoying noises the system made in addition to the airflow.

The positives were the truly happy location inside a village that feels like a candy shop and the breakfast served at the village’s only bar. The latter follows the B&B formula with croissant and cappuccino, served by the bar owner, a very kind and friendly girl. Unfortunately, the room was very small, so when I stepped down the wall I practically had to squeeze through the thin walls, which offered no privacy. On top of that, the sleep was interrupted by the occupants of the adjacent room (not their fault). If both rooms were occupied by friends or the same family, this issue might not arise. Part of the wall was peeling with obvious damp stains. At arrival the room was very cold because no one had turned on the air‑conditioner, the only heating option. It was passable for one night; the potential is there, but if not used, it turns into a boomerang.
