If you’re okay with self‑check‑in, this place is fantastic! The room was huge and airy, with plenty of space and storage. It wasn’t pristine or pricey, but it felt rustic with wooden floors and big old furniture. It was very clean, offered tea and coffee, filtered water, and a comfy bed. Wi‑Fi worked well, and the air‑con was quiet and cooled perfectly after a day out. The bathroom was tidy and stocked with soap, shampoo, body wash, and spare toothbrushes. The location was brilliant – a quiet street with little traffic, within walking distance of many great spots in the old town and a wide range of restaurants. A Grab was easy to get for farther trips. The only downside is there’s no reception; check‑in is fully virtual, so if you prefer staff on hand it might not suit you. It’s not the ultra‑modern chain hotel, but if you want clean, authentic accommodation, this is a great choice.

The design and concept were solid, with spacious areas and a great kitchen. However, maintenance was lacking: all rooms had dirty air‑cons that needed cleaning, some lights weren’t working, and in the evening the corridor lights stayed on, flooding the rooms with bright light. The small rooms (palm 1 & 2) had appropriately sized air‑cons, but the larger rooms’ units were too small, reducing cooling. Some switches tripped, and the glass wall and door at the bathroom in palm 1 were broken and unsafe. I had to insist that the air‑cons be serviced – the filters were very dirty. One bicycle had a flat tyre for all three nights, and the other was low on air.

The spot was convenient and the bed was super comfy, plus the AC did its job. The couch felt plain, and the stairs lacked a railing at the bottom, which made me uneasy as an older traveler. There was no bench to unpack luggage, so I had to use the floor, which was awkward. The TV was unprogrammed, so we couldn’t use it. The toilet had a roll on the bowl with only a nail on the wall—no proper holder—and the steps to the toilet area also needed a railing. The room had no broom or mop, no outlet near the bed, and the lock‑box code sent in the email was wrong; we had to call three times to get the right one.

The location was fine, but I never saw any staff around. The overhead fan above the bed was dusty, and I’d have preferred a different entry method instead of just PIN codes.
