The colonial architectural structure was a highlight, but on the third floor there was no water in the shower, let alone hot water.

The place is in a fantastic spot. The only hiccup was that the staff didn’t know the parking rules for the street.

The spot was great, and the historic charm of the building was a real treat. The family running the place were warm and helpful, though a few other guests complained about the weak Wi‑Fi. I figured the thick, 1‑1.5‑foot interior adobe walls were to blame – the signal just didn’t get through. The staff moved me to a slightly better room, and I managed to get online by stepping out every now and then. On the flip side, the staff shift was uneven: the couple who checked me in were attentive and professional, but the replacement seemed to do only the bare minimum. The advertised 24/7 hot‑beverage service fell through, breakfast was late, and a few other small issues popped up.
