The room was clean and spacious with working air‑conditioning, and the location was ideal for a stay in Arugam Bay.
“Nicht empfehlenswert, absolut zu teuer für so einfache Zimmer mit schlechter Ausstattung!”
The beach is close, but the place is absolutely basic—just a bed and a small wardrobe, no chair, no table, nothing. It smelled bad, there was no toilet paper or soap. The mattresses were poor and everything outside looked like a construction site. The balcony had no railing, which is dangerous with kids. There is NO restaurant, even though it’s listed, and it’s far too expensive for what you get.
“Hidden gem!”
Beautiful little oasis just behind baby point, run by a local family who are just lovely! Great quiet village experience while being 200m from the main swimming beach and main surf point! Staying again!
“Bring your own cleaning tools...”
First off, the owners are friendly and the location is unbeatable (except for the temple prayers that can be heard). The rooms are roomy, but they’re not clean; the toilet smells like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks, the drain is clogged so sand can’t be washed out, and the shower drain gets stuck. The room feels unfinished overall. Honestly, the owner could make a profit without caring about guests’ opinions. Arugambay is popular and places like this get enough bookings for the price the owner charges. While on the balcony I realized how much potential is being wasted here.
“Tres moyen”
The hotel is very close to the beach and has a nice garden, but aside from the two beds there’s no furniture (not even a shelf) to put your stuff on. The fan was broken, there were three outdoor chairs and two of them were broken, exposed electrical wires were coming out of the walls, so the room looked under renovation, and the shower water pressure was very low.
