LA BASTIDE DES CULS-ROUSSET

A perfect spot to unwind—stylish, relaxed, and very atmospheric. The pool was warm and lovely, and the hot tub was enjoyable. A nice petanque court was available, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Our three nights in mid‑October fell right in the middle of the week, so the entire huge villa and its grounds were essentially ours; we only encountered other guests at breakfast. Cats, ducks, and roosters were part of the scenery. A Lidl was within walking distance for groceries and drinks, and we could borrow dishes from the villa’s cabinet. No car was needed because Uber worked well (about 15 € to the city centre, 35 € to Cassis). Breakfast was exceptionally good.

“bastide avec beaucoup de charme mais un peu déçue par ma chambre”

The garden, pool, and décor were great. I mistook the buzzer on arrival, and a lady answered quite unpleasantly; the first contact was stiff. My room faced the parking lot, so the terrace was unusable, and curtains had to be closed. A tray of moldy grapes was hanging next to the bedroom entrance, which was not very appetising.

A dreamlike estate! Every room is unique (we were allowed to see several) and meticulously furnished. The garden is a peaceful oasis overlooking the city. Breakfast is excellent, and the service is competent and warm.

“Großartig, einfach großartig!”

The staff, house, garden, quiet, privacy, loving touches—everything, really. The only downside is that a car is recommended from my point of view.
