It was a truly out‑of‑this‑world experience 😁 Raslan and his family were very kind. The meal, the Kazakh songs, and the room were different from usual! A small bonus was the four cute kittens trying to steal from our plates 😁. It’s important to note that there will be an extra fee for the meal (which is mandatory) and if you don’t drive yourself you’ll have to pay for transport from Samarkand, Bukhara, or Nuretta. Also bring something small for the Kazakh singer.

The location is wonderful, the staff (especially Ruslan, the boss) are friendly and helpful, the meals are excellent, and the value for money is great. A top experience!

The transfer was convenient; we were picked up in Bukhara and taken to Samarkand. The guide was very friendly and spoke Russian fluently. On the yurt property there was almost no connectivity and no internet at all. That’s fine because you enjoy the desert, but it’s better to keep that in mind.

If you travel through Uzbekistan, the Kiziltou desert and the Nuratau mountains are must‑see! A true nature break amid city tours, especially to experience local cultures authentically. Our four‑day adventure with Ruslan was exceptional. In the desert we spent the day by a beautiful lake beach before heading to the yurts camp in the evening. We watched the sunset, enjoyed a Kazakh music show around the fire, dined under the yurts, and then stargazed in an incredibly clear sky. A truly authentic and complete experience. Then we spent three days in the Nuratau mountains, walking from village to village through traditional Tajik settlements and staying with locals. In just four days we discovered and shared Kazakh and Tajik cultures while enjoying stunning landscapes and preserved nature. A human and cultural experience we recommend without hesitation.
