The accommodation was absolutely incredible, our love for Peru! 🤩 A large, clean room, delicious breakfasts, and a central spot perfect for exploring the Sacred Valley! 👍 And especially the hosts, endlessly kind and always ready to help, advise on the region, or just chat. 🥰 Thanks again for making our Sacred Valley trip magical! 🙏

The receptionist’s friendliness even let me borrow her hair dryer. The rooms offer a lovely street and mountain view. The breakfast was super fresh, and they also have parking. It’s a bit far from everything.

Cleanliness. I asked for a third‑floor room with windows all around. For an affordable extra fee in winter you can rent a heater that works very well. I didn’t notice it was 30 minutes by car from Ollantaytambo, but a colectivo runs regularly.

The hostal is about 7 km from Urubamba in Yanahuara. From Urubamba, get off at the first stop and turn right, walk about 250 m up the hill. The location is quiet, and you can cheaply take a colectivo to Urubamba (2‑3 Soles) to catch the bus to Ollantaytambo. The staff prepares a lovely breakfast with a dreamy valley view. Because heaters aren’t common in Peru, it can get cold at night/morning, so bring warm clothes. Showers have hot water, and card payment isn’t always available. The advantage of this setup is that you mingle with locals instead of being isolated in tourist buses. For Machu Picchu we arranged a colectivo driver who picked us up at 6 am and drove to Ollantaytambo station. Price about 50‑60 Soles. It’s sensible to buy a local mobile chip, e.g., Claro. For about 7‑10 Soles you can go to the Santuario de Colibris (3 km up the hill). The dog barking sometimes at night.
