The ferry to Calais was very convenient, the owner was friendly, and we could park on site for free; the place was clean and the bed was fine, so it was fine for a one‑night stop. We didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. We briefly saw the first‑floor rooms and saw why this B&B has an 8.9 rating, but the attic room feels more like a 7.5. It cost more than expected because it was a bank holiday weekend. The local shopping area is a bit seedy and we couldn’t find a pleasant place to eat, so we just got takeaway.
